Castlebar Celtic will meet Maree Oranmore after they successfully appealed the decision to replay their controversial Connacht Junior Cup final win over Salthill Devon.
The Connacht FA had ordered that Celtic's 1-0 win over the Galway club be replayed after they successfully appealed the result after the Connacht FA violated its own rules by having Mayo officials oversee the game.
Celtic subsequently appealed that decision to the Disciplinary Control Unit of the FAI, arguing that the breach of the ruling was not made by the club.
The hearing, which was heard today (Friday) on Zoom, found in favour of the Mayo Super League champions, who The Mayo News understands will now meet Maree Oranmore in the Connacht Junior Cup final on Sunday, June 17. A venue for the match has yet to be confirmed.
The Mayo News has contacted Salthill Devon for comment.
