The Mayo Volleyball Team
Mayo Ladies Volleyball Club delivered a strong all-round performance to secure a straight-sets victory over Santry Nova, winning 3–0 in an entertaining league encounter.
Mayo were slow out of the blocks in the opening set and at one stage trailed 7–1. However, the team showed resilience and composure to claw their way back into the contest, turning the momentum and eventually edging the set 26–24.
Building confidence from the comeback, Mayo took control in the second set, winning 25–18. Strong serving and disciplined defence proved decisive, with particular impact from Meta Alisauskaite at the service line. Her defensive work throughout the match was also notable.

The third set was again tightly contested, but Mayo held their nerve in the closing stages to seal the win 25–23 and complete a deserved clean sweep.
Several players stood out across the match. Nikola O’Halloran and Viktoria Balik Novak impressed in the front row, with Balik Novak delivering a strong all-round performance across all three sets.
Ingrid Baccarini had an excellent third set, contributing solid defensive passing and two important kills.
Amy Breslin was influential at the net, recording a number of well-timed blocks at crucial moments.
Captain Áine Joyce was a model of consistency in the setter role, providing steady distribution throughout and excellent coverage on short balls.
Ana Posaric delivered an outstanding defensive performance during her time on court, while Áine Treanor made a strong impact when introduced in the third set, producing key defensive work when it mattered most.
