Lily Slattery from Knock brought success back to Mayo as she was crowned overall champion at the Irish National Showjumping awards weekend in Mullingar.

The 15-year-old, who is daughter of Gillian (née Byrne) and Chris Slattery, Knock, was once again on
board her horse, Captain Candyman, owned and bred by her granddad, Gabriel Slattery Snr, at Castlelawn Stud, Dunmacreena, Irishtown.

Lily, a past pupil of Irishtown NS, is currently a third year student at St Louis Community School in
Kiltimagh and retains a huge interest in showjumping.

Her recent achievement in taking top spot at the Irish championships in Mullingar is another endorsement of Lily’s outstanding credentials on the equestrian circuit.
