Mayo woman Dayna Finn has already played a fantastic AFLW season with Carlton FC.
And tomorrow, Saturday, November 22, Finn and her teammates face a stern challenge in the Preliminary Finals of the championship.
Carlton FC are pitted against Brisbane Lions who have been a regular customer come the business end of the season.
The last three years Brisbane reached the Grand Final, winning the 2023 decider.
For Carlton, this year marks the first time they qualified for the post-season since 2020. Back then, the Melbourne based outfit actually beat Brisbane Lions in the first play-off round. But the rest of the season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Finn has recently been making strides in the AFLW. The winger steadily increased her game-time and productivity. The Kiltimagh native was named player-of-the-match against Western Bulldogs.
And after the regular season Finn was named in the initial All-Australian squad.
A win would see Carlton play their second Grand Final, after losing to Adelaide in 2019. The AFLW played their inaugural season in 2017.
The preliminary final against Brisbane Lions will kick off at 8.35 am Irish time on Saturday morning, November 22.
