Sean Heverin was the winner of the 9 Hole Seniors with 20 points. Padraic Walsh and Seamus Hyland took second and third places with 18. Play Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The scramble will continue on Friday next.
Peter McNally continues to lead the Golfer of Year on 88 points with Peter Sheridan in close contention on 85, followed by Gabriel Dockery on 80 and Colin Cooney on 79.
The Cecil Ewing Team went out to Castlebar in Round One winning one match away through Tony McDonnell/Frank Scally and Tom Geoghegan/John Lawlor gained a half point at home. The experience will stand to all the team going forward. The Jack O’Sullivan team will commence their campaign on Tuesday with a first round encounter versus Ballina.
The Am Am did not conclude until yesterday, Monday, so results are not available this week. Lady Captain, Maureen Mulloy, will hold her President’s Day on Saturday, with 9 Holes for the men in the afternoon. Wednesday's ladies results sponsored by Boots; 1, Ger Barrett 35; 2, Saskia Eland 34; 3, Carol Rowland 34.
WESTPORT
The club reports the Single Stableford Open sponsored by Dunnes stores: 1, Sean Alger 36; 2, Eoin Ryan 35; 3, Tony Fennessy 35. Ladies: Three-person Waltz 18-hole Stableford: Triona McEvoy, Sarah Coyle and Helen Lundie 77 points. 18 hole stableford: 1, Lauren Brady Thornton 35 points; 2, Celia Connaughton 35; 3, Helen Curran 32. Westport registered to take part in the Golf Ireland Womens Silver and Bronze medals. Congratulations to Maureen Keane who won the Silver medal and Triona McEvoy who won Bronze. Finals will take place in September 4 in Tuam.
