Oisin Joyce from Ballinrobe made history in June by setting a new national U-20 javelin record
An exciting athletics prospect from Mayo has been selected to represent Ireland at the U-20 World Championships in Peru later this month.
As Athletics Ireland officially confirmed today, Oisin Joyce from Ballinrobe will travel to Lima to compete with the world's best.
Joyce has been in superb javelin form this season, having posted a personal best of 73.72m back in June which places him fourth on the Irish all time list.
The javelin men's event will take place Tuesday, August 27 with the qualifiers and the final two days after, on Thursday, August 29.
