Gardaí have seized a motorcycle after discovering the driver had no insurance and had not taxed the bike in over a decade.
The stop was made by the Laois Roads Policing Unit on the M7 motorway on Sunday.
In a post on social media, gardaí confirmed: "Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped this motorcycle on the M7 earlier today. With tax out over 4000 days and no insurance it was the end of the road. Vehicle Seized and court proceedings commenced against the driver."
The tax lapse of over 4,000 days equates to nearly 11 years without a valid motor tax disc.
The vehicle was seized and removed from the road, and gardaí have confirmed that legal proceedings are now underway against the motorcyclist.
