Gardaí discovered cannabis growhouse operation worth over €500,000 in Cavan
Gardaí have seized cannabis herb and plants worth more than €500,000 following a search operation in Co. Cavan on Wednesday, 12th February, 2025.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Cavan/Monaghan area, Gardaí attached to the Monaghan Divisional Drug Unit searched a house in Belturbet.
A sophisticated growhouse operation was discovered and Gardaí recovered 111 sapling cannabis plants and more than 25kg of cannabis herb, with an estimated street value of more than €500,000.
The drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
