GARDAÍ at Granard have issued a plea for witnesses in the aftermath of a devastating single-vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Edgeworthstown, Longford on Monday, December 4.
The incident unfolded shortly after 4:40pm when emergency services and Gardaí were alerted to a single vehicle crash on the N4 at Lisnagrish, Edgeworthstown.
The victim, an 80-year-old woman who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, received immediate attention from emergency services personnel at the scene. Despite their efforts, she was subsequently transported by ambulance to Tullamore Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The investigating Gardaí are now urgently seeking the assistance of the public. They are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information relevant to the incident to come forward.
Additionally, authorities are appealing to individuals who possess video footage, including dashcam recordings, taken on the N4 at Lisnagrish around the time of the collision to share this material with the investigators.
