WESTPORT Triathlon Club will host their first-ever duathlon event on April 28.
Participants are being invited to undertake a 4-kilometre run, 20-kilometre cycle and 2.5 kilometre for an event that is open to participants of all abilities.
The newly formed Mayo duathlon series has seen Castlebar Triathlon Club hold a well-attended event on March 18 and Ballina Liquid Motion Tri club more recently March 23.
The 4-kilometre run will take place on the green and will follow part of the park run route. The cycle will then commence from the skatepark and head out the Leenane Road before turning around until the 20-kilometre leg is complete.
The final leg will involve a second run of 2.5 kilometres on the greenway.
A relay option is also open for contestants who would prefer to engage in just one part of the event.
The event is sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland (TI) and is not chip timed but will have a race clock.
The registration fee is €20 and each entrant who are not TI members must pay an additional €20 for a one-day race licence from TI (additional €20).
Numbers are limited to 100 participants, so early booking is advised.
Registration can be done through the TI website.
