Thanks to electric fleet: DPD services in Mayo to operate as normal

DPD Services Ireland have announced that they will suspend deliveries across Ireland amid ongoing fuel protest chaos

The news broke on Friday afternoon.

The fuel protests has seen farmers, hauliers and contractors take to the streets in their vehicles, blocking motorways and other major routes in a bid to force the government to reduce petrol and diesel prices.

In a statement DPD Ireland said: "We understand this may cause inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our team is working hard to resume normal service as quickly as possible."

However, The Mayo News understands that DPD in Mayo are operating as normal this weekend. This is due to the help of their electric fleet of 15 vans at their centre in Ballinrobe.
