This weekend, Andy Moran's Mayo side will make the trip to McGovern Park in Ruislip for the tenth meeting of the sides in the Connacht Championship.

As records go, it's hard to do better than the Green and Red to date. Nine games, nine wins, and a total winning margin of 95 points tells its own story.

However, one Sunday in May 2011, Mayo came mightily close to being on the wrong end of one of the greatest shocks in GAA history.

That day, the Exiles took their counterparts from the West all the way to extra time, as Aidan O'Shea, Donal Vaughan, Jason Gibbons and company had to fight for their lives to progress to the semi-finals.
