Excitement sweeps the west as Mayo player wins €11,101,286 and becomes first Lotto jackpot winner of 2026

€1m must-be-won Lotto special this weekend while Saturday’s jackpot rolls towards €5.5m

A lotto jackpot of €11,101,286 has been won in Mayo.

A Mayo player is celebrating extraordinary news this afternoon after waking up as Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire, having won an incredible €11,101,286 in last night’s (Wednesday, February 25) Lotto draw. The west is buzzing as the ticket holder not only scoops the impressive jackpot but also claims the coveted title of first Lotto Jackpot winner of 2026.

The winning numbers from last night’s Lotto draw were: 19, 20, 22, 25, 28, 43 and the Bonus was 1.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the store location where the winning ticket was purchased will be announced on Friday, February 27.

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Mayo area to check their tickets very carefully. If you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.

Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery, said “Mayo will be absolutely buzzing today! One Lotto player has scooped an incredible €11,101,286, officially becoming our first Lotto Jackpot winner of 2026. It’s a fantastic moment for the county, and with over 82,000 players winning prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws last night, celebrations are happening right across the country. We’re over the moon for our jackpot winner and are urging everyone in Mayo to check their tickets – it could be you!”

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6.5 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 37 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
