Both butchers are located in Newport.

Two Mayo butchers are toasting success on the national stage, having received awards at the National Sausage and Pudding Awards.

The event, which took place at the Curragh Racecourse in Kildare at the end of last month, aims to reward butchers across the country for their exceptional products.

At the event, two Newport stores scooped major honours.

Kelly's of Newport, who are regular winners at awards ceremonies of this kind, secured a silver award at the event.

Kelly's were also recipients of the Speciality Sausage Award for their renowned pork and black pudding sausage, alongside their black pudding.

Another butcher who is no stranger to big wins is Keane's Meats. Keane's, which also received acclaim for their rib-eyes at the Irish National Steak Challenge, featured in the silver victors.

Keane's took home an award for their caramelised red onion and cheddar sausage, as well as their black and white pudding.
