REVEALED: Numbers for completed homes in Mayo for 2025

The figures for home completions in Mayo and across the country for 2025 have been published.

According to the Central Statistics Office there were 36,284 new dwelling completions in 2025, an increase of 20.4% from 2024 and the highest number of completions since the series began in 2011.

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne has welcomed the increased home completions reflected in today’s publication by the CSO of their New Dwelling Completions Report for the fourth quarter of 2025.

There has been a share of almost 40% increase in apartments built.

Commenting on today’s figures and the increasing pace of delivery, Minister Browne said: “Today’s figures are very welcome and signal a clear ramp up in supply – clearly seen in the delivery of more than 232,250 homes in the last decade.  Indeed, more than 161,300 new homes alone have been completed since July 2020.”

The Minister added: “One key indicator of progress is the delivery of new apartments. Encouragingly, after a very significant drop-off in apartment delivery in 2024, today’s figures show a 38.7% increase in apartments in 2025 compared to 2024 with more than 12,000 apartments completed.  This is the highest completions figure for apartments since the CSO began collating this data set in 2011.
