Irish Water crews in Mayo are responding to supply issues in Achill Island, which have been caused by a burst water main in the area.

People on the West Mayo island are suffering from reduced supply and intermittent outages as a result of the burst main.

The affected regions are as follows: Cloughmore, Currane, Derreens, Polranny, and Sraheens.

Irish Water has assured customers that full mains access is estimated to be restored this evening (Tuesday, January 27).

“We acknowledge the impact of an unplanned outage for customers, and we wish to thank impacted customers for their understanding while our repairs are underway,” stated Irish Water's Ronan McDonnell.

“Works are ongoing, and we hope to have the supply restored for affected customers later this evening.”
