Mayo business announced as a finalist in the national start-up awards

Mayo business, Eco Powered Cabinets, founded by former Mayo Person of the Year, Darren Forde, has been shortlisted for the 2025 National Startup Awards in the Product and Manufacturing Startup category. 

The company, which provides solar-powered cabinets for storing medicine in remote locations such as beaches, greenways, and mountains, has provided help several times on Croagh Patrick.

The volunteer Community First Responders told The Mayo News that the sixteen Mayo companies that manufacture the product are ‘the cog that keeps the wheel spinning’.

Additionally, Eco-Powered cabinets has been shortlisted in the Mayo Business Awards in the ‘Green Game-Changer’ category.
