An Garda Síochána Mayo have share important advice as the holiday season is taking off.

"We do have people who come in to the Garda station to have their passport signed, but they don't have everything they need," explains a Garda in the video shared: "We have to send them back which is very frustrating."

For example, the applicant must have four recent passport photographs. If the application is time sensitive, there is a quicker option online available.

An Garda Síochána also gave advice on how to keep your passport safe when travelling abroad: Taking a photo of the information page of your passport might be a good idea as it helps in case you mislay or lose it.
