There is a list of items that we should ensure to have inside the house:

  • Candles
  • Flashlight/ batteries/ fully charged
  • Food cooked, like soups, sandwiches made (reason: expected power cuts)
  • Fuel in for the open fire or stove
  • Have a flask or two of hot water if you don't have a gas hob or oven
  • Consider having extra for an elderly neighbour.
Ballyglass RNLI finish their message with an appeal: "Stay safe. Let your neighbour know you will call, check on them. Sometimes people on their own get scared by all the hype on tv and radio. Charge them mobile phones, ipads, tablets, game consoles etc."
Please keep away from coastal walks, viewing areas etc. don't endanger yourself or others.
