Planning application lodged to construct waste removal facility in Shrule.

A planning application has been lodged with Mayo County Council to build a waste recovery facility in Carrowoughteragh, Shrule.

P&D Lydon Ltd have submitted the application which proposes the construction of a waste recovery facility for the acceptance, recovery and processing of up to 5,000 tonnes per annum.

According to the application, the facility would specifically manage construction and demolition waste including concrete, brick, tile, soil and stone to produce recycled aggregates for export and use in the construction industry. 

Mayo County Council are due to make a decision on the application by February 7, 2025.
