Drop-in information morning on new Mayo Affordable Housing units

The affordable units are being made available on the Golf Course Road in Westport.

Mayo County Council have announced that in conjunction with Westport Credit Union, their Affordable Housing Office staff are hosting a drop-in morning where interested applicants are invited to call to Westport Credit Union to meet with staff, who will be on hand to answer any questions they have about have about five affordable units now available in Westport. The date for the drop-in is tomorrow, Thursday, December 12 from 11am to 2pm.
A total of five homes consisting of three bed units are being made available for sale by Mayo County Council on the Golf Course Road, Westport, under the Affordable Purchase Arrangement as set out in the Affordable Housing Act 2021 and the associated Housing Regulations legislation. The three bed homes will generally be available only for first-time buyers who do not own a home (although a small number of exceptions apply).
In order to be eligible to apply and subsequently purchase one of these homes, an applicant must satisfy the eligibility criteria of the scheme.
Further information on this scheme, including the Scheme of Priority, the documents required to be submitted with the application form and how to make an application, are available from the Housing Section of Mayo County Council’s website.
Please note applications are currently not open for these units. Interested and eligible parties are being advised to prepare for making an application. Applications will open in early 2025 and will be accepted via an online application portal. All details will be advertised in advance of the applications being open.
