Team Hope are appealing to the people of Mayo to take part in this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
The charity organisations are calling on people to help Make a Child Smile this Christmas.
They are appealing to families, schools and communities, and informing them that there’s still time to join in the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
All participants ought to do is fill a shoebox with gifts and essential items and let a child know you’re thinking of them. It’s a simple act of kindness that can make a huge impact.
Since 2010, the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal has delivered two and a half million shoeboxes to children in countries across Eastern Europe and Africa who are affected by poverty and marginalisation and now, they need people across Mayo to grab a shoebox and help them help these children.
Getting involved is easy, all you need is a shoebox wrapped in bright paper and one of each of the four W’s - something to wear, something to write with, something to wash with and something wow. Include €5 and drop off your shoebox at one of hundreds of drop off points nationwide by November 10.
You’ll find out all you need to know what to include and where to drop off your shoebox on the Team Hope website.
Additionally, you can build a box on the Team Hope website until December 23.
