Unaccompanied learner driver in Mayo detected travelling at almost twice the speed limit

Gardaí are call on all drivers to comply with speed limits

MAYO gardaí have detected an unaccompanied learner driver travelling at almost twice the speed limit. 
In a statement on social media, gardaí confirmed that they had detected an unaccompanied learner driver travelling at 119 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in the Ballina area.
All learner drivers must be accompanied by the holder of a full driver’s license when driving.
Gardaí are currently conducting patrols and checkpoints in Mayo as part of the Bank Holiday Road Safety Campaign to prevent and detect poor driving behaviour.
