The market will run from December 6-8

Castlebar Municipal District in conjunction with Castlebar Chamber have announced the Castlebar Christmas Market 2024.

The Market will run from Friday, December 6 to Sunday, December 8, taking place at Collectors Lane (Bridge Land).

With daily opening hours from 1pm-8pm, the market promises to be a magical celebration of local craftsmanship, food and festive entertainment.

Local businesses and producers who are interested in taking part are invited to register their interest and secure a space at this much anticipated event. The Castlebar Christmas Market will be an opportunity to showcase unique, high-quality products to a diverse audience, supporting local artisans and entrepreneurs.

Cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District, councillor Donna Sheridan, commented: “The festive season is one of the most important times for traders and ratepayers in the year. By putting on the Castlebar Christmas Market, we are looking to give back to those businesses and see increased footfall and spending in the town, along with having a great day out for people to enjoy.”

David Mellett, Head of the Castlebar Municipal District, added: “The Castlebar Municipal District is delighted to be able to facilitate the Castlebar Christmas Market this year. Providing support to small businesses and encouraging people to come and enjoy all that Castlebar has to offer is something that we are thrilled to be involved in.”

Anne Conlon, President of Castlebar Chamber, concluded: "We are working with and involving local businesses in this project to improve the look and feel of Castlebar and provide a great atmosphere for retail and shoppers alike in our town. In the build-up to the busier shopping period of the year, we are playing our role in supporting members and the local economy."

The Market will feature three types of stalls, including arts and crafts retail with handcrafted items, gifting products and art retail stalls; food stalls featuring food products for consumption off-site, as well as catering stalls serving hot and cold food for on-site enjoyment.

The standard size of a stall offered will be three by three metres, and a three by three metre gazebo can be provided if required to stallholders.
