On Saturday, July 6, the Foróige Amplified musical festival in Knockmore saw over 3,000 young people from all over Ireland in attendance.

Foróige Amplified has been described as the Electric Picnic for young people which boasted a main stage with DJ’s Sharron Lynskey MC, DJ Avocado and the iRadio duo of Steven Cooper and Dave Duke closed out the festival.

The night also featured a silent disco, fun fair and a chill out zone.

The non-alcohol event was a huge success, according to one of the organising committee members, Andreana, the festival doesn’t only showcase ‘amazing fun and entertainment, but it also fosters a sense of community and camaraderie’.

“The energy from the crowd at Foróige Amplified this year created a magical atmosphere that just brought the whole place alive. The Foróige Amplified experience was truly unforgettable, and we cannot wait for the next one. To sum up Amplified in three words - amazing young people,” she said.

Sean Campbell, CEO of Foróige, explained that the event is organised entirely by volunteers and young people.

“It’s by no means an easy feat to put an event like this together. We know the hard work and dedication gone into organising the festival, and it shone through on the night!

“I want to thank the volunteers for the immense amount of time and effort that was put in, and for facilitating the work of Foróige with young people, empowering them to be the best that they can be,” he concluded.
