A public defibrillator has been installed at the Quay in Westport.
The Point Dippers, The Helm Bar and Restaurant, Westport Community First Responders and Eagle Boxing Club are all 'delighted' to have been involved in the installation of a new public-access Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at the Quay.
Close to local swimming areas and amenities, the AED is available for use by any member of the public, in the event of a cardiac emergency.
This device is also linked to the National Ambulance Service, so when a member of the public makes a 999/112 call they will be directed to this if the emergency is close by.
Westport Community First Responders are a voluntary local group providing support to people who suffer Cardiac related events and providing complimentary training by locally trained instructors.
To get involved or receive required training please contact westportcfr2019@gmail.com.
