THE funeral Mass of much-loved Tourmakeady woman Margaret (Peggy) Conway is to take place tomorrow afternoon.
She will reposing at Halla Tuar Mhic Éadaigh (F12 C6F2) on this evening (Thursday) at 5.30 pm with removal to her home at 7.30pm.
Her Funeral Mass on takes place tomorrow (Friday) at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Tourmakeady with burial afterwards in adjoining Tourmakeady Graveyard.
Margaret, who was better known as Peggy, died after she was fatally injured in a two-car collision at Culmore, at the Charlestown side of Swinford on Monday at approximately 4.30pm.
Her husband Padraig, who was driving the car she was travelling in, was taken to Mayo University Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.
The male driver of the second vehicle was also seriously injured during the collision and was taken to University Hospital Galway.
Ballinrobe-based county councillor Michael Burke, who is a relative of Margaret's through marriage, described her 'an absolutely fabulous woman'
Margaret was 78 and was the mother of five children.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N5 between Swinford and Charlestown this afternoon between 4pm and 4.45pm, is asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
