Country Roads Country followers are assured of a good night’s dancing in Bourke’s of Irishtown on Saturday.
Music and dancing in Irishtown
Michael Commins
COUNTRY followers are assured of a good night’s dancing in Bourke’s of Irishtown this Saturday night, March 1. The popular venue will play host to The Ranchers Showband from Manchester, featuring Mike Brennan, with special guests Pat Jordan and Kevin Prendergast. The night will mark Pat Jordan’s first ever show here in the West. The Manchester-based Wicklow man fronts his own band, Finian’s Rainbow, over in England, where they are well known on the Irish circuit. Through his regular guest spots with the Enjoy Travel music holidays in Ibiza, Portugal and Spain, Pat has become widely known to many from the western region. Some of his songs have become very popular on Mid West Radio over the past year or so, and none more so than the much-requested hit, ‘You’re A Phone Call That I Need To Make’. Pat has recorded several country albums over the years and is very much looking forward to his first gig in Mayo. Mike Brennan is the lead singer with The Ranchers. Not only does he sing a broad selection of Big Tom’s ever-popular repertoire, he also sounds a lot like the man from Monaghan. Mike’s songs are certain to have the dancers on the floor. The talented Kevin Prendergast, who has also been added to the line-up, is sure to attract a good crowd to the Irishtown venue. Kevin is just back from a few shows in England. So, whether you like jiving or waltzing, or just sitting back and enjoying a good show, Bourke’s of Irishtown is the place to be on Saturday night. Admission is €10 and the show gets under way around 10pm
