James Kilbane to headline cancer support show

ACHILL’S James Kilbane will headline a special concert in the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport on Sunday night, February 17. The show is in support of the Mayo Cancer Support Association which is based in Castlebar. Since making a name for himself in the ‘You’re A Star’ series some years ago, James has maintained a high profile, performing at shows here at home as well as overseas, especially in America. The repertoire comprises of country, folk, ballads and his now well-established Gospel programme. It’s a highly entertaining show which always engages the audience in an intimate way. The Mayo Cancer Support Association was formed in 1999 and continues to carry out much-needed and professional work with persons diagnosed with cancer and their families. Based at Rock Rose House, Castlebar, Mayo Cancer Support assists people in offering professional, emotional and practical help to people with cancer and their families. Services provided at Rock Rose House include professional counselling and relaxation therapies that are most welcome to sufferers and assist in their normal recovery time at various stages throughout their cancers. Other services include reflexology, life coaching, and stress management as well as practical life assistance. Donation tickets are available by calling to Rock Rose House, Castlebar, or by phoning 094 9038407, as well as from any Mayo Cancer Support members or Angela at 087 2804164 or direct from the Castlecourt Hotel reception at 098 55088. The show gets under way at 8pm.
