Talismanic Bard teams up with Saw Doctor

MUSIC Padraig Stevens and Leo Moran will perform together in Clonbur on Sunday, September 24

The Saw Doctors, Christy Moore and Michael English have all had success with his songs but if you want to hear the original versions of favorites like ‘The Tuam Beat’, ‘Streets of Galway’ and ‘Ireland for the Summer’, go along to All Saints Heritage Centre in Clonbur on Sunday, September 24, and hear Padraig Stevens perform a selection from his book of songs.
The man once referred to as ‘The Talismanic Bard of the Land and the Lake’ will be accompanied by Leo Moran, songwriter and lead guitarist with the Saw Doctors.
A night of original songs is promised, with a few stories and a bit of craic thrown in. Padraig has released two album CD’s of his songs -‘Sound!’ and ‘Puddles and Rainbows’, and an album of football songs with Leo Moran under the moniker ‘The Folk Footballers’.
He is best known for his work with The Saw Doctors, with whom he has recorded and toured extensively. He is also co-writer of some of their hit songs, including ‘I Useta Lover’, ‘Still the Only One’ and ‘That’s What She Said Last Night’.
All proceeds from the show will go towards the development of All Saints Heritage Center.
