KEEPING IT COUNTRY Popular singer Mick Flavin.
Mick Flavin and his band are back by popular demand at Maire Luke’s, Tourmakeady, this Saturday night, December 17, when Mick will be singing all his favourite hits and a few new ones.
Mick’s famous songs include ‘Maria’s Heading Out To California’, ‘Old School Yard’, ‘Home To Donegal’, ‘County Of Mayo’ and ‘Never Too Old To Feel Young At Heart’. These songs have made him a household name here in Ireland and all over the World.
Next year Mick will celebrate 30 years in country music, and he is still quite busy gigging – though now he picks his dates more selectively. His loyal fans still ‘keep travellin’ to Flavin’, and knowing the man he is he will not disappoint anyone.
Next year, Mick plans to return to Boston and Scotland along with doing his normal gigs here in Ireland and the UK. He has also recorded a new album that is due for release after Christmas. The album contains 15 tracks, including a number of Gospel songs. A DVD is also being recorded at present.
Last May, Mick was honoured to receive the first ever Irish Country Music Hall Of Fame Living Legend award. He was very proud and honoured to get this award, as he had tough competition.
Mick and the band are looking forward to heading to MΡire Luke’s this weekend, and are hoping to see all their loyal friends and fans there.
Doors are open from 9.30pm, dancing from 10.30pm. Admission per couple is €25.
