Meet December’s Mutt of the Month: Jacquie

Mutt of the Month
February – Jacquie

Does anyone recognise Jacquie? A sweet six-year-old terrier, she came to MADRA from the pound. She’s microchipped, and chip had details registered, but sadly when MADRA called the number, the person at the other end had never heard of her and had no idea where her owners might be.
She might have been sold on or been given away since being registered, as it looks like she might have had a hard time of it lately. She has some facial injuries, and an abscess, which is now being treated. She is really stressed and upset in kennels. She just sits and barks and pants all day. She quickly calms down when you stroke her though.
This girl really needs a home or a foster home as soon as possible, as it’s painful to see her so anxious. She will need someone who’s home for most of the day, but also some work on getting her to be a little more self-sufficient, rather than relying on company all of the time.
All this girl needs really is a bit of stability and calm, and she will soon blossom.

Jacquie is just one of many Mayo and Galway rescue dogs at Connemara-based Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption (MADRA) looking for a loving home. All dogs will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please see www.madra.ie, visit MADRA’s Facebook page or call or text Marina on 086 8149026.
