Westport-based singer/songwriter Paul K released his debut single, ‘Bright Side’, on February 2. The musician and frontman for The Paul K Band has also released a music video for the track which is available on iTunes, Google Play and Spotify.
The single launch kicks off an exciting year ahead for the troubadour, with an EP due out from the band, and a total of ten solo tracks being released by Paul himself and a six track EP featuring the full band coming out too.
The band has just recently supported Imelda May as part of her Irish tour, and the coming year will see the release of a two-part documentary that charts the journey of the band over a six-month period.
“I wanted to capture the process of how each song on the EP develops from writing straight through to release, which is something you don’t normally see,” Paul explains. “‘Bright Side’ is especially personal, as I wrote it to show that everybody has their bright side, no matter how mad things may seem. It’s all about focusing on the good things!”
An Irish TV feature on Paul K and his band and the new single will air tonight (Tuesday) at 7.30pm on SKY 191. The band features Raphael Dziubinski on drums and Marcin Piasecki on bass, with Paul K taking on the piano and vocals.
