Westport indie-pop band release split album

Westport indie surf pop band, ‘Me and My Dog’, have just released a split cassette album by Dublin indie label Popical Island with Tuam, garage pop rockers, ‘Oh Boland’.
‘Me and My Dog’, the “impossibly youthful four-piece from Westport” as described in the Irish Times, consist of schoolmates Luke Healy, Josh Noone, Austen Smith and Tim O’Reilly. The band was formed just under a year ago and has since played a number of shows around Ireland, including a storming set at the Ones to Watch Festival in Dublin.
The split album entitled ‘Delphi’ is the first physical release from either band. It features five tracks from each act and comes in pro-dubbed pretty, pale blue cassettes. The tracks are filled with vibrant melodies, pounding rhythms, hook-laden passages and flickering post-modernism.
‘Me and My Dog’s lead single ‘The Scenic Route’ was featured on popular music blog Nialler9 and has been described by goldenplec.com as an “infectous surf pop track”.
‘Delphi’ is described by thelastmixedtape.com as “a record brimming with flourishes of brilliance and hidden gems”. and according to the Sunday Times, it’s a “rough’n’ready collection of thrashy, loose indie-pop”. Download Delphi now via popicalisland.bandcamp.com.
