The Belcarra Community Council attended President Michael D Higgins’ final afternoon tea reception at Áras an Uachtaráin. 

Mary Joe Cannon, Mary Fitzgerald, Mary Prendergast, and Tony Cunningham of The Belcarra Community Council were invited to Áras an Uachtaráin in recognition of their outstanding commitment, leadership, and service to their local area.

Each of the attendees has played a vital role in enhancing community life in Belcarra, serving on multiple committees and working tirelessly to make positive improvements for residents. Their dedication to local initiatives, events, and projects continues to strengthen the community spirit that Belcarra is known for.

Speaking on behalf of the chairperson of the council, Fionnán Nestor said: “We are absolutely delighted that our members received this honour. Their hard work and selfless contribution to the community truly embody the values of volunteerism and civic pride that President Higgins has always championed.”
