The new Barrell & Castle bar and restaurant will be located close to the Linenhall Arts Centre, in the building which previously housed Bosh Bar.
A much anticipated bar and restaurant in Castlebar is set to open its doors early next year.
'The Barrel & Castle' is looking to open early in 2024 on Linenhall Street in the town, in the premises previously known as Bosh.
Spearheaded by the well-known publicans Joe and Marian O'Malley of the award-winning bars The Porter House and Cosy Joes in Westport, the transformation of the old Bosh will be a must see for residents of the county town.
The Barrel & Castle is Castlebar’s first 'brassiere-style' venue accommodating for over 200 guests and features an all-encompassing menu complete with a Brunch, Lunch, Dinner as well as a Sunday Lunch offering.
Upon entering The Barrel & Castle, the newly transformed glass opulent bar is said to be 'truly mesmerising'. There is a high ceiling main bar, dazzling displays, the amber and brass lighting and the antique gold finishes, all bringing together a luxurious and perfectly contemporary touch of elegance.
Located on the iconic Linenhall Street in Castlebar, the kitchen will serve food from 12 noon to 8pm daily, seven days per week, with a selection of classic dishes such as Yellow Thai Curry, the traditional burger and an array of top quality steaks, sitting alongside locally inspired dishes. There will also be a selection of tantalising cocktails to enjoy, exclusive to The Barrel & Castle.
In addition to the main restaurant and three indoor bars, The Barrell & Castle also boosts a beautiful garden area where guests can enjoy al fresco dining under an enclosed canopy, warm heaters and furthermore another ostentatious outdoor bar area mirroring the beauty of the main venue. The state-of-the-art glass stair case combined with the ambient lighting is sure to be the place for any special occasion.
Joe O Malley said: “It is with huge excitement that we open in Castlebar, something we have wanted to do for some time. Every bit of attention to detail has gone into 'The Barrel & Castle', with huge praise to all the team involved to date. We now look to create between 30 to 40 new jobs in the area, offering the best standard and quality within the hospitality scene.”
