LATEST Gardai in Swinford are questioning two men in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Frankie Heneghan
Two men arrested over Kiltimagh stabbing
GARDAÍ in Swinford now have two men in custody for questioning in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Frankie Heneghan in Kiltimagh in the early hours of yesterday morning. The first man was arrested yesterday evening after the Gardaí launched a murder inquiry and just before lunchtime this afternoon a second man was taken into custody. The Ballyheane native died from multiple stab wounds following an incident in a laneway at the rear of the Kiltimagh’s Main Street. Both men are now being questioned at Swinford Garda Station where the murder investigation team is based. They can be held for up to 24 hours. This morning, gardaí said they had received a 'great deal of valuable information' from the public following an appeal for witnesses to come forward. Supt Ronan Galligan said the information received had helped them build up a clearer picture of the events which led up to the fatal stabbing and he again urged anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward. Details of the funeral of Frankie Heneghan have yet to be released.
