Westport GAA, organisers of the hugely successful Win A House In Westport fundraiser in 2019, have just launched their latest fundraising campaign - ‘Win a House in Westport 2’. The club is offering one lucky person the life-changing chance to win a home worth €325,000 for just €100, in the west of Ireland seaside town.
The A-rated 4-bedroom house in Slí Na Misean is located on the edge of Westport, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. It boasts a much sought-after location, since it is surrounded by a host of stunning natural amenities - the local greenway which is just across the road, while both Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay are just a short distance away.
Speaking at the official fundraiser launch, Project Lead, Danny McLaughlin commented: “Westport GAA are excited to officially launch our 2021 Win A House In Westport 2 fundraiser.
Our 2019 Win A House In Westport fundraiser was an outstanding success for the club. We sold 10,000 tickets to people from all over the world, ahead of schedule and the lucky winner, Liam Walsh from Knockmore, was delighted to move into his new home in
February 2020.
“We hope to replicate the success of the original fundraiser in 2021.
We have retained the same Club Project Team and we plan to introduce a number of additional cash prizes throughout the year to make it an even bigger success. So, the earlier you buy your ‘Win A House in Westport’ ticket, the more monthly draws you will be entered in.
For example, there’s a €5,000 cash prize draw in early June for those who have bought their ticket before Bank Holiday Monday, June 7, at 11.59pm.”
In December, along with the top prize of the house, there are nine other prizes bringing the total prize fund to €340,000.
The other prizes include a €5,000 cash prize, a €3,000 cash prize, and several €1,000 vouchers from local sponsors.
This fundraiser will run between now and Christmas and the winner will be announced at the annual Westport GAA Club Dinner Dance on December 28, in a Facebook live-streamed independently supervised draw.
The funds raised will be used to develop much needed playing facilities for one of the fastest growing sporting clubs in the entire country.
The club plan to commence the construction of a Croke Park size playing field with floodlights, a 250-seater stand, clubhouse and changing rooms in June 2021 for completion in September 2022. The total cost of this ambitious project is approximately €3 million.
