THE 23 year-old corner-forward has been winning rave reviews for weeks as he enjoys his best season to date for the county finalists.
So far the tall inside forward has accounted for 0-24 in the 2020 championship campaign, from a mixture of open play and deadballs, and it’s highly likely he will add to that tally on Sunday week against Breaffy.
Naughton was in and out of the Mayo senior extended panel in recent years, but he has displayed all the skill, trickery, athleticism and two-footed ability that will have on James Horan’s radar again.

Colm Moran
Westport
THE 22 year-old corner-forward was a late addition into the Westport panel this year after spending some time in Australia earlier in the year, and many people didn’t expect him to make the impact he did after missing the first few championship outings.
Last Saturday night at a wet MacHale Park, Moran was Westport’s outstanding forward and scored three impressive points from play, along with a well-taken advanced mark.
He made his National League debut for Mayo last year but was released from the panel later in the season.
James Horan is familiar with the forward from his time managing Westport as well as Mayo, and if he can find a way to get the best out of him, Moran could be a serious addition.

Conor O’Shea
Breaffy
THE youngest of the O’Shea brothers, the 27 year-old is, arguably, playing the best football of his career for Breaffy.
Although his Mayo senior career never reached the heights that many expected, his form this year cannot be ignored.
Physically, he always looks and performs from an athletic perspective like an inter-county footballer. His challenge has been transitioning his good club form to the Mayo jersey.
O’Shea never nailed down a regular position while playing for Mayo in the past but maybe James Horan can find a role for him in 2020?
