Harvest Moon hummus recalled due to Listeria fears

Hummus manufactured by Westport-based food company, Harvest Moon Wholefoods, is being recalled nationwide

Hummus manufactured by Westport-based food company, Harvest Moon Wholefoods, is being recalled nationwide due to Listeria fears, according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. The implicated batches of the popular dip are 180g Harvest Moon Natural Hummus with a best-before date of September 16, 2018.
Listeria bacteria cause an illness similar to the flu. It can be dangerous for a number of groups, including pregnant women, unborn babies and new babies and people who are unwell.
The FSAI stated that: “Harvest Moon Foods is recalling the above batch of Harvest Moon Natural Hummus due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes.”
The authority also said that ‘Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that sold the implicated batch’.
