Tell us something about yourself we don’t know?
My younger brother Mark and myself are Irish twins. Every year we’re the same age for two weeks.

What’s your favourite TV show?
Friday Night Lights. “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose”. Love it.

Name three things that are always in your fridge?
Ice cream, chicken and cheese.

Which three guests would you invite to your dinner party?
Dan Carter, I’d say he has amazing stories from his career and not a bad view to look across the table at. Adele, she looks like good craic, and Beyoncé. Because if I could be another woman I would be her, she has the life and herself and Adele could sing if there was any awkward moments!

Who’s your ideal date?
David Beckham

What makes you nervous?
Spiders or bees.

Any football superstitions?
I have to put my left sock on first, then my right. Then my left boot, then my right. Then tie the left one, and finally the right. And I have to wear some sort of plait in my hair!

Biggest messer in the Mayo dressing-room?
Yvonne Byrne. ‘Crazy’ is her nickname and she didn’t get that for being a quiet girl all her life. She’s always up to something!

What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss not having to worry about anything. The most you had to worry about then was that the teams in national school were fair!

What’s your most prized possession?
It’s either my runners-up European Championship medal where we lost to Spain in the final or my Connacht ‘Young Player of the Year’ trophy.

Most under-rated player in Mayo ladies football squad?
Danielle Caldwell from Castlebar. We haven’t seen the best of her yet

Last time you cried?
I had a little tear or two when we beat Kerry the last day, but the last good cry was a month ago, watching Neighbours, when Josh died,

Best thing about being a Mayo ladies footballer?
Having the craic with the girls/management on and off the pitch! There is always stories.

Best advice you ever got?
You might be having an off day, and nothing is working out for you, but no one can stop your work rate.

Three things you’d bring to a desert island?
My dog Sparky, my music speakers and a blanket.

Favourite Mayo men’s footballer?
Keith Higgins. His movement on and off the ball is amazing, and he makes things happen.
