Gardaí are seeking assistance after a digger was stolen from a farm in Hollymount recently.
Information sought on Hollymount digger theft
GARDAÍ in Claremorris are appealing to the public following the theft of a digger in the Hollymount area.
The Hitachi digger was taken from a farm in Curraboy, Hollymount, sometime between Sunday night, May 3, and Monday afternoon, May 4.
Gardaí are actively investigating the matter and following all leads.
This is the third reported theft of one such machine in the county, with a digger stolen from the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Ballyhaunis on February 28 last. That digger was recovered a time later.
Another machine taken in Castlebar on February 10 has not been recovered.
Meanwhile, gardaí are also seeking information into the burglary of two vacant houses where copper cylinders were removed from the properties.
Gardaí are also urging people who may be looking after houses for neighbours, friends or family to exercise vigilance to prevent these kinds of crimes.
