Gardaí seek information on theft of steel fencing worth €4,000

GARDAÍ have urged the public to report any suspicious sightings of steel fencing after over 300 individual fence pieces were stolen from the roadside in Derrinumera between 5.45pm on Friday evening and 9am on Saturday morning last.
The fences are owned by a company from Roscommon who were working in the area for Mayo County Council and are worth around €4,000. Gardaí believe somebody must have seen some activity around the fences as the effort to steal them would have been a considerable one and involved several vehicles.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Westport Garda Station on 098 25555.
