TIME is running out for one would-be-millionaire with a lottery jackpot of €2.9 million remaining unclaimed at National Lottery HQ.
There is just 24 days left for the winner to claim their prize.
The ticket, which was bought in Tesco Claremorris on November 29 last has yet to be handed over in return for the life changing sum of money. A spokesperson with the National Lottery confirmed that the jackpot remains unclaimed and said that as the deadline draws nearer, a reminder will be issued for people to check their tickets.
“There’s a bit of time left for it to be claimed but as it gets closer we will be highlighting it in the area.”
Asked if perhaps the winner was waiting the claim the jackpot closer to the time, the spokesperson said ‘everyone is different’.
“Some people cannot wait to get up here and some want to leave it a little while. Hopefully the winner will get in touch soon,” said the spokesperson.
The lucky winner purchased the ticket in Tesco in Claremorris, just hours before the Saturday evening draw. The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 18, 28, 35, 39 and 37. As the days pass, rumours continue to surround the identity of the winner who will scoop €2,913,455 in return for their €3 QuickPick.  Check those old jeans and under the sofa, you have until February 27 to get to Lotto HQ with the ‘golden ticket’.
