A 19-year-old Islandeady man charged with the murder of his mother, at Derrynacrieve, Islandeady was served with a book of evidence yesterday (Wednesday), June 1, and sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court.
Celyn Eadon appeared before Judge Mary Devins at Castlebar District Court. He was charged with the murder of his mother Noreen Kelly Eadon (46) on March 9 last.
Sergeant James F Carroll appeared and submitted the book of evidence. He confirmed that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for the detainment of the accused until the trial, which is expected to begin in the Autumn.
Defence Solicitor Lynda Lenehan applied for legal aid for the accused. Legal aid was granted, including one junior and one senior counsel.
