Bad break rules Dolan out until April
Mike Finnerty
IT will be the beginning of April before Kevin Dolan will be able to take part in ‘contact work’ in either training or matches after breaking his jaw in a number of places. The Tourmakeady captain sustained the injury after falling awkwardly during the opening minutes of Mayo’s FBD Connacht League game with GMIT ten days ago. Dolan’s jaw was broken in a number of places and he underwent surgery to have a number of pins and plates inserted last Tuesday at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar. The injury will rule the talented young forward out of competitive action for approximately ten weeks, but he can resume running-related training almost immediately. The Derryveeney native is also hopeful that he can force his way back into James Horan’s plans again before the start of the Connacht championship. Mayo get their campaign underway against London in Ruislip on May 29.
