Well-known Westport businessman dies in his 100th year
Mr Martin O’Grady, Killadangan, Westport, who has died in his 100th year, was a prominent member of the Westport business community for many years. A member of an old Westport Quay family, he was proprietor of O’Grady’s Furnishings, Shop Street, Westport, up to his retirement from business. Prior to establishing his own business he worked for a number of years in PJ Kelly’s, Castlebar Street, Westport. Martin and his first wife Margaret were dedicated workers at the Marian Shrine at Knock for many years. He was predeceased by her and his second wife. He will be missed by his nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, other relatives, neighbours and many friends. A wake was held at his home in Killadangan before Martin’s removal took place to St.Mary’s Church, Westport for concelebrated Requiem Mass. Burial took place in Aughavale Cemetery.
