Westport and Kiltimagh were victim to two separate petrol station robberies in the middle of the night
Filling Stations struck by thieves
WESTPORT and Kiltimagh were victim to two separate petrol station robberies in the middle of the night last Tuesday, January 11. A quantity of money and cigarettes were the target of two raids last week in what Gardai believe were two linked incidents. Gardai in Westport confirmed that they believe that the same car was used in both raids and are hopeful that CCTV footage from the site will lead to the identification of the individuals involved. “It was a very unusual case in the area. There was an amount of money taken from the tills while there was a quantity of cigarettes taken from both premises. The investigation is still ongoing and we are seeking the CCTV footage now. “We believe we will be able to identify the individuals from the CCTV and we are urging anyone who may have been in the area at around 1am in either Kiltimagh or Westport to contact Gardai,” the Garda spokesperson told The Mayo News.
