Ballyhaunis native John William Burke will take part in the Rpely Italian International Under-16 Championships on Biella Golf Club's 'La Betulle' course
A young Mayo golfing sensation is set to showcase his incredible skills on the fairways of Italy, as the Reply Italian International Under-16 Championships get underway this week.
John William Burke, from Ballyhaunis, will be amongst the 144 players strutting their stuff on the iconic Golf Club Biella 'Le Betulle' course, just a stone's throw from Milan and Turin.

Burke, despite his years, has had plenty of success and high points in the sport. At age twelve, he won the Flogas Irish Junior Open Golf Summer Series and represented Ireland at the R7a Home Internationals in England earlier this month.
Tomorrow (Thursday, August 28), he will tee off at the 18th edition of this prestigious competition, which will run over three days until Saturday.
The prodigious young talent will be hoping to make the cut and be among the top 42 who will advance to gun for glory in an 18-hole final on the last day.
