Keira Keogh officially became an election candidate this afternoon on her birthday. She is pictured with Michael Ring, TD (proposer) and Ann Marie Courell (Returning Officer).
This afternoon, in a symbolic moment at the Courthouse in Castlebar, Deputy Michael Ring, TD, proudly stood by Keira Keogh, proposing her as the Fine Gael candidate for Mayo. The occasion was made even more special as it marked Keira’s birthday, and Deputy Ring highlighted the best gift she could receive from the people of Mayo – a Number 1 vote on November 29.
The retiring TD stated: “I am delighted to be able to propose Keira Keogh today. It is a special day for her, and the present she is hoping for from Mayo is simple - your Number 1 vote on November 29. It would be the best birthday present she has ever received if she is elected on November 30.
“Keira Keogh’s commitment to the people of Mayo is evident in her passion for community service, a dedication I have proudly witnessed. Now, we are asking the community to come together and support Keira as she steps forward with a vision for a stronger, united Mayo.“As the General Election approaches, Keira and her team look forward to engaging with residents and listening to their hopes and concerns for the future of Mayo. This November 29, we are asking for a vote of confidence, a vote for progress, and a vote for Keira,” said Deputy Ring.
The first Fine Gael candidate said it was a memorable birthday for her.
“I am humbled and honoured to finally be on the ballot paper and it was a really special moment for me to have Michael to propose me. All I can ask is for number one votes on November 29 so we can continue on the legacy of Michael Ring and keep a TD in Westport and West Mayo,” said Keogh.
